Carve 4 Cancer 2018
Carve 4 Cancer 2018 was a huge success thanks to all of our donors and participants! Throughout the fall, we approached local businesses and asked them two things: to donate to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, and to participate in our giant pumpkin carving contest. By the end of October, in perfect timing for Halloween, we got 24 businesses to donate and 19 of them carved, decorated or painted their giant pumpkin and entered the competition. The patients and staff of the Cancer Centre then cast their vote in the Best Pumpkin Contest and after 3 days of voting, we got approximately 115 ballots! Keep reading to see photos of the creative pumpkins and to see the winners of the Contest! It was a tight race!
This year, we set a goal to raise $10,000 for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. But due to the help of all of our amazing sponsors and participants, we were able to surpass this goal! We raised $10,200 for the WCCF!
We definitely hit it out of the park for it having been our first event and we have no one else to thank but you! We would've never been able to have such a successful start to our fundraising goals if it weren't for our amazing sponsors, participants, and for everyone at the Cancer Centre. We were able to not only raise money, but also bring on so many smiles with the extraordinary displays. Thanks again to everyone and see you next year!
