ABOUT US
Lindsey Bareich
A first-year Life Sciences & Biochemistry student at the University of Waterloo, Lindsey enjoys travelling, spending time with her family, reading, writing, and a variety of sports including volleyball, swimming, and skiing. As a hobby baker, cake decorator, and recipe developer, Lindsey started her own business called A Pound of Butter in 2021 to sell custom cakes and share her recipes with the world. Lindsey is a good organizer who likes to help plan everything from family trips to her Dad's creative and ambitious endeavours. Carve 4 Cancer was David's great idea and Lindsey's biggest organizational challenge yet at only 12 years old the inaugural year.
David Bareich
Second generation owner and President of GBIE, a local manufacturer of coatings for the global automotive industry. David travels the world for both business and pleasure. He enjoys steep slopes (without moguls) for downhill skiing, camping in Ontario Provincial Parks, and wants to go scuba diving again. Despite his hectic schedule, David seems to be good at coming up with crazy ideas and getting people (usually family) to help bring them to fruition.
Cancer's History in the Bareich Family:
The Bareich family has lost many of their loved ones to different types of cancer. Lindsey and David have created this event to raise money for cancer research and to help cancer patients - and their families - that are in need of support and treatment. They also hope that the decorated pumpkins give the people who help Cancer Patients at the Windsor Cancer clinic and those undergoing therapy an interesting distraction from the difficult jobs and treatments they are doing.
